Any Given Afternoon

God plays running in the wind
I saw God this afternoon.
While the clothes on the clothesline were drying
The children were in the backyard dancing.
And God went there with them.

I was watching this scene: God and God’s children
And the waters overflowed –
I miss my child.
It went away like a delicate flower
torn by a violent hurricane.

God who is the sweet wind that has come inside
And drank coffee with me
And breathed calmness.

But there is a hole in my being
Nothing can be done
Except to have coffee with God.
Sometimes.
